August layout

I didn't really have a specific title in mind for the layout as I was creating it but when I got it finished I thought it looked like a great heritage layout. I used the Because I Care stamp set, I love that hydranga! It made some beautiful background paper as well as a main focus piece.

I also used Marina Mist cardstock. It is such a nice blue, I really like it. I thought it went well with the Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip. Another new thing I used was the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. You can see it a little better in the close up at right. You also get a good view of the new Decorative Label punch that will be available starting Sept 1st in the Holiday Mini Catalog. Another great punch to add to your collection!
I also made a ribbon flower below to accent the right hand page. It is easy and only slightly time consuming to make but I think it is worth every second! It is a beautiful flower that we were showed how to make at convention. I've got to run right now but will do a tutorial tomorrow so you can make your own ribbon flowers to accent your pages and cards. Notice the lace behind the flower and around the Chocolate Chip Scalloped Circle photo mat on the full layout? We now have some great lace trim in the catalog, this is called Victoria and is Very Vanilla and 5/8" wide. There will also be black lace and some other fun trims in the Holiday Mini Catalog. Fun stuff!
