I've been waiting to post this card because I can't find who I CASEd it from and was hoping I could find it so I could give her credit.  If it was you, please let me know!

We made this in our club meeting this month.  I used the tree from Lovely As A Tree because I didn't have the set she used.  We stamped it in Versamark and embossed it in white embossing powder.  After it was embossed we used Garden Green ink to sponge over it, start at the middle and work your way out so it isn't too dark around the edges.  That also prevents large circles of ink you get when you first dab the sponge on with fresh ink.

We embossed the strip of Whisper White paper with the new Snowburst embossing folder which made it really easy to tear across the top and fold down.

It is a good thing I had another card ready to blog with.  I have a sinus infection AND vertigo right now so I haven't felt like stamping for a couple of days.  I'm hoping to be feeling better tomorrow.  I reckon I better go drink another cup of yarrow tea before I go to bed.

Metal Embossed Butterfly

I love this project that Julie shared with us at the shoebox swap! I thought the butterflies looked good in my Africian Violets. We just used metal flashing from the lumber store and cut it with the Beautiful Butterfly die on the Big Shot machine. Then we ran the smaller butterfly through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and the larger one through the Elegant Boquet embossing folder.

Not only do the Big Shot dies cut the metal with no trouble, the Crop-a-dile punches holes right through it! We punched a hole in the middle of the butterflies and used a Rhinestone Brad to attach it to the wire to make the plant poke. Quick, easy and looks great!
I am anxiously awaiting my pre-order from the new catalog. When it comes I will hopefully be able to get some projects made to share quickly. I'm also working on a Father's Day class for next week. We will be doing a picture frame, photo album and card that all co-ordinate. I should be able to finish them tomorrow so I can post the pictures and hopefully entice you to come to the class!

Swap Cards

I wanted to post a few more of the wonderful swap cards I got at the Stampin' Up retreat I went to last month. I love these swaps, you get so many great ideas!

Melany Watson always makes wonderful cards, this one features the new embossing folder that is available with the Summer Mini Catalog. I just love the dimention the embossing adds to projects. This one is called Square Lattice and has a great woven texture. Don't you love it? Mine will be here next week so you will be seeing it in a lot of my projects soon! this card also includes the new Extra Large Fancy Flower punch as well as the Boho Flowers punch and a new stamp set called Bouquet Bunch. I love that little bucket!

Next is a simple but very pretty card that uses the wonderful Cottage Wall DSP as a base. Those tone on tone green swirls are a great design. This card was made by Pamela Kroeger and includes the Whimiscal Words sentiment set 2 punches; the Scallop Square punch and the Eyelet Border punch. Pamela finished her card off with the beautiful Whisper White Organza ribbon.

The third card also uses an embossing floder. Marsha HOsner made this card with the Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions folder. She
dotted the flowers with the white Signo Pen and stamped the fun, fancy "F" from the Vintage
Vogue with Silver Encore ink. The flowers are punched from Cottage Wall DSP and chunky glitter added to the center for more sparkle.

The Summer Mini catalog is filled with wonderful new stamp sets and other products. I just ordered 3 packages of them so if you haven't gotten one yet, let me know and I'll get yours to you. You don't want to miss out on it!

I have a scrapbook class this morning. I wish you were here, it's going to be fun!
