Happy SU Anniversary to me! More Unique Cards

Here are some more unique cards that are great without being terribly hard. First, Angie asked me if aluminum flashing could be used with the Big Shot dies. Obviously, looking at the card on the left, the answer is yes! Not only can you cut it with the dies, you can use it with the embossing folders, isn't that a great look? This convention swap card was made by Sherrie Robinson. Note: Be careful when cutting and preparing the flashing because it is very sharp but once you cut it with the Big Shot, the edges are beveled and not sharp anymore. The flashing isn't very expensive and it sure gives a great look to a project, doesn't it? I will be posting more projects made with aluminum flashing!

Second, on the right is a card made by Theresa Argonza-Gomez. She used the 1 3/4" Scalloped Circle punch to punch flowers from the Newsprint Designer Series Paper and layered and scrunched them as an accent to this card. She ran only the edge of the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock through an embossing folder and used a big diecut and stamped "B" to layer on her card. You could make a special card with the first letter of the receiver's name to let them know you are thinking of them.

A penny for your thoughts? The next card is a fun card with the penny in the Sweet Treat Cup. I hadn't seen the pennies with the different design on the back before I got this swap from Lorraine McEvoy at the Stampin' Up Convention. I like how she used the Stem Sayings stamp set for the stem of the flower and stamped an extra "wish" from the set behind the penny.

Different shapes are always fun for cards and the punch art lamb is perfect for the Scalloped Circle card that Rhonda Wade shared. I love the Pear Pizzaz and Certainly Celery together and the Pretty in Pink hearts are the perfect accent. The lamb is made with the 5 Petal Flower in Basic Black and the 1 3/4" Scalloped Circle punch in Whisper White. What a fun way to tell someone how much you love them!

The last fun card for the day is probably my favorite because it is such a great idea! I'm not sure of the name of the creator (genius that she is) but her email address has Ornetta in it. I'll have to email her to find out what her name is so I can give her proper credit. She used the Awash with Flowers set and turned them upside down to make cute little skirts for the top halves of the All in The Family set. They are so cute I just can't resist smiling when I see them. I know my granddaughters would love a card with these little girls, both of them have Dec birthdays but I don't think I'll wait that long to CASE this card, I reckon a "Thinking of You" card is in order real soon.

Happy Stampin' Up! Anniversary to me!

I have officially been selling Stampin' Up for 4 years! I love creating and sharing and teaching so it is a perfect match for me. The main drawback is I hesitate to ask anyone to buy something, host a workshop or to join my team. Why do I hesitate to ask a friend to host a workshop? You get to have friends over and make cards or scrapbook projects and have a snack and visit. That's all fun, right? Who doesn't like to give homemade gifts and cards?

Also, I need to step it up a notch to get a promotion that is hanging within my grasp so I am going to use my anniversary month to offer you some specials, 4 specials! I know some of my friends who regularly read my blog would love to help me reach that promotion (please????)

Special #1 For every order placed, you will get a 4% discount and a free marker for the first $25 you order. A $50 order gets an 8% discount and a free marker and ink pad.

Special #2 Any hostess who has a workshop in August will get a marker and a pack of Designer Series Paper when her workshop holds. I will show a few techniques and your guests will do a nice make-n-take. You choose the theme and whether we do cards or scrapbook projects.

Special #3 If you book a workshop that is held and completed by Aug 31 Stampin' Up is sponsoring a special of $25 additional hostess benefits so that is $60 free merchandise with a qualifying workshop. In addition to that, I'm giving a stamp set on a qualifying workshop so you will get the hostess set, another free set and $60 in free merchandise (as well as free markers and inkpads with the order you place). The qualifying workshop is a $350 workshop and since the average workshop is $400 that should be easy enough to achieve. Does doubling up on the gifts make booking a workshop more tempting? I hope so!

Special #4 If you decide you would like to join my team and become a Stampin' Up demonstrator too, you will get 2 markers, 2 ink pads some bling and a stamp set, these will be current colors and stamps. The sales and booking incentives listed above are from my stock of discontinued products.
I hope that is tempting enough to get you to email me with the option you want. School has started and it is the perfect time to celebrate with a party or a new job :~)
I'll be posting my August classes in a couple of days. I've been freezing cherries and berries and haven't gotten the projects finished yet! It's good to see the freezer filling up for the winter though.
